Hans Kniebes was founded in Bad Honnef, Brunnstraße, establishing the company's foundation in precision craftsmanship and high-quality instruments.

Destruction and rebuilding after the war

During World War II, the Sonnenschein facilities in Solingen were destroyed in 1944. In 1948, Otto Sonnenschein returned from Russian captivity and rebuilt the company in Florastraße, Solingen, marking a new beginning.

Through the marriage of Hans-Walter Kniebes and Carla Sonnenschein, the previously independent family businesses Hans Kniebes and Sonnenschein were united. This partnership combined decades of expertise and craftsmanship.
